A general method for efficient and selective extraction of a target compound from complex natural products remains elusive, despite decades of research. By introducing a functional amido group on the surface of dispersity-enhanced magnetic nanoparticles, a nanoparticle receptor to selectively recognize Sibiskoside (a monoterpene) from the aerial portion of Sibiraea angustata by hydrogen bond interaction was synthesized. The superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were successively modified with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), amino and amido functional groups, and 4-vinylbenzoic acid (VBZA) was used as the functional monomer. A thin layer of poly (VBZA) imprinted with Sibiskoside was immobilized on the surface of magnetic carriers. Attributing to the amido group introduced into the magnetic particles, the template could attract and bind to the surface and promote the formation of a hydrogen bond system between the carrier, template molecules and functional monomer. High-density molecular recognition sites grew on the surface of magnetic substrate. The adsorption reached equilibrium at approximately 150â¯min, while fast adsorption occurred during the first 60â¯min. The maximum adsorption capacity has been found to be 13.75â¯mgâ¯g-1 according to calculation with the Langmuir isotherm. The selectivity coefficients of Molecular imprinting polypers (MIPs) for Sibiskoside with respect to Andrographolide, Loganin, Gastrodin, geraniol-1-O-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1â¯ââ¯6)-1-ß-d-glucopyranoside] (GRG), Sibiscolacton and Sibiraic acid were 2.26, 1.43, 1.701.56, 1.05, 0.73 and, respectively. The results indicated that the MIPs possessed good specific adsorption capacity and selectivity toward Sibiskoside and had the potential to be a candidate for the separation and purification of monoterpenes from Sibiraea angustata, which is of great significance to obesity management.

Three new alkaloids, liparis alkaloid A (1), B (2), C (3), and three new phenolic glycosides, liparis glycoside H (4), I (5), J (6), together with three known phenolic glycosides (7-9) were isolated from the whole plant of Liparis odorata. Their structures were characterized on the basis of extensive 1D-, 2D-NMR and HR-ESI-MS experiments. In addition, compounds 1-3 revealed hypolipidemic effects in the in vitro bioassays, and the ability to inhibit LPS-induced NO production of these isolated phenolic glycosides (4-9) was also evaluated.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the chemical constituents from the shoot of Phyllostachys edulis. METHODS: Normal-phase, reversed-phase silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 porous polymer gel column and HPLC chromatography were used for isolation. Spectroscopic methods (13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, DEPT and EI-MS) were used for identification. RESULTS: Eleven compounds were isolated and elucidated, which were skimmin(I), liquiritienin(II),1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1-propanone(III), syringicaldehyde(IV), vanillin(V), isoliquiritigenin(VI), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid(VII), methyl p-hydroxy benzeneacetate (VIII), 5,7-dihydroxy-8-methoxyflavone (IX), daucosterol(X) and ß-sitosterol(X). CONCLUSION: All the compounds are obtained from this plant for the first time, and compounds VI, VIII and IX are firstly isolated from the plants of this genus.

Chemical investigation of the ethanol extract from the whole plant Liparis odorata (Willd.) Lindl (orchid family) has led to the isolation of three new phenolic glycosides named liparisglycoside A-C (1-3) along with six known compounds (4-9). The structures of compounds were elucidated by means of extensive spectroscopic data analysis and comparison with the literature data. In addition, compounds 3 and 9 revealed inhibitory effects on lipopolysaccharide-stimulated nitric oxide production, and compounds 1, 3 and 9 displayed hypolipidaemic effects in in vitro bioassays.

Chemical investigation of the aqueous extract from the aerial part of Sibiraea angustata, has led to the isolation of eight new monoterpene acylglucosides named sibiraglycoside A-H(1-8), together with two known monoterpenes, Sibiraic acid (9) and Sibiskoside (10). Their structures were elucidated by means of extensive spectroscopic data analysis (including 1D and 2D NMR, HRESIMS experiments), as well as compared with the literature data. The relative configuration was established by NOE studies. In the in vitro bioassay, all the compounds showed moderate hypolipemic effects, among them, compounds 7 and 9, showed distinctive activity on lowering lipid.
RESUMO
To study the constituents from the chloroform extract of the roots of Lasianthus acuminatissimus Merr., various chromatographic techniques were used to separate and purify the constituents. The structure was established on the basis of ID, 2D NMR and HRMS spectroscopic analysis. A new compound was isolated and identified, which was 3, 8-dihydroxy-1-methoxy-2-methoxymethyl-9,10-anthraquinone (I). Compound I is a new anthraquinone, namely lasianthurin.

According to textual study of herbal drugs and modern scientific research of chemical constituents and pharmacological actions of Plantago asiatica L., the record in the ancient literatures was found to be basically identical to that obtained by modern scientific research. Plantago asiatica from Plantaginaceae family is regarded as the orthodox medicinal herbs through the ages.
